The New Media Team is BAM/PFA's internship program for those interested in learning how digital media can support the educational mission of a museum and film archive. Contact jpearson@berkeley.edu.
During the spring semester, the PFA Curatorial department supervises a curating internship of three hours per week, culminating in the students curating a program of student-made work from local film schools. These internships are open to Film Studies majors; students can enroll through Telebears.
There are opportunities for security guards, assistants for marketing, development, and other administrative offices, theater cashiers and ushers, bookstore and library help. Work-study positions at BAM/PFA are listed at http://workstudy.berkeley.edu.
The PFA Library works closely with volunteers, who help with gathering film-related materials and maintaining the library collection. Contact Jason Sanders at jsand@berkeley.edu to sign up for the next volunteer training session.
