Over 300 students came to the galleries of the Berkeley Art Museum to see A Rose Has No Teeth: Bruce Nauman in the 1960’s. Students enjoyed the bright neon sculptures and video installations of Bruce Nauman while grooving to the jazz techno sounds of DJ Firewater Frequency. They posed in front of a neon rendition of Bruce Nauman’s Study for a Hologram and received rose tattoos, on various parts of the body. Sipping a glass of wine or apple cider, students also enjoyed the various refreshments, such as cheese, crackers, fruit, and chocolate. Prizes were given away including fabulous “A Rose Has No Teeth” T-Shirts, which were worn by all the committee members at the event. Lighted galleries, in addition to the haunting yet mesmerizing video installations of Bruce Nauman contributed to the captivating atmosphere.
