Around 1,500 students attended this daylong event that featured the best of student arts at Cal. Almost twenty different student organizations—ranging from the Berkeley African Student Association to the American Institute of Architecture Students—participated in this celebration of student talent. In addition to music and dance, Fall Arts Fest included an exhibition of student paintings, sculpture, and installation art, plus a chalk art competition on the pavement around the museum. In the museum theater PFA presented six hours of film and video about art, artists, and artmaking from the collection.

Other highlights included a martial arts performance by Cal Wushu, and a poetry slam hosted by Cal Slam held inside the museum galleries.

Throughout the day visitors saw performances by the following campus ensembles: Men's Octet, Dance Junta!, Cal Jazz Choir, China Dance Theatre, Take Ten Rita, DeCadence, the Golden Overtones, The Movement, and Danceworx. Writers from IBID, the Cal Literary Journal, presented readings of their work in the galleries. Also featured at Fall Arts Fest were student singer-songwriters Eric Janson and Shaden Tavakoli.
