What do DJs and silent film have in common? Cine/Spin: the groundbreaking film/music fusion event brought to you by the BAM/PFA Student Committee. On April 11 of 2007, approximately 200 Cal students and PFA attendees were part of this innovative experience; four Cal student DJs were assigned the task of creating a contemporary soundtrack for Jean Vigo’s 1933 film Zero for Conduct and spinning it in front of a live audience.

The event was a huge success. Despite disagreeable weather, many audience members stuck around after the film event for our After School Special, where the DJs kept the party going and the Student Committee provided food, drinks, a photobooth, and prizes for the best Prep School Chic outfit.

Keep your eyes and ears open—you haven’t seen the last of Cine/Spin! Also, special thanks to our co-presenters, KALX, and our sponsor, Bows & Arrows.
