On February 12th 700 Cal students came out to engage with the new 2008 exhibition, Enrique Chagoya: Borderlandia. From Aztec pyramids to Teotihuacan to Mickey Mouse, students viewed images that commented on how cultures collide and what Enrique Chagoya calls “reverse anthropology.”

In addition to the art, the BAM/PFA Student Committee provided two mouth watering chocolate fountains, jarritos, La Burrita, sparkling cider, rythmic music by DJ Erik, dancing, raffle-drawings for those rare and most-wanted Borderlandia t-shirts and of course, the Student Committee’s signature polaroid station. Party-goers posed under the ominous hand of Mickey Mouse while dressed in gigantic sombreros and shell bras. By the end of the night more fun was in the air as the Student Committee’s mascot, the Green Bunny, made a surprise appearance.
